Preview & Testing
Use the built-in preview feature to see how your outreach will appear on your website. Some outreach types provides a visual preview of how the element will look and behave.
For thorough testing, configure your outreach triggers to target only yourself as a visitor, so the outreach appears exclusively for you during development. This prevents accidentally showing incomplete or broken outreach to your actual website visitors.
Step 1: Find Yourself in Visitors
Open your widget's visitors page to locate your own visitor session.
Step 2: Open Your Chat Session
Click on your visitor entry to open the chat interface.
Step 3: Edit Visitor Properties
From the chat interface, modify your visitor's custom properties or attributes that can be used for targeting.
Step 4: Configure Targeted Triggers
In your outreach's trigger configuration, set up visitor rules that match only the specific values you assigned to yourself. This ensures the outreach will only appear for your visitor session.
Step 5: Test Thoroughly
Visit your website, trigger the outreach conditions, and verify the appearance and functionality work as expected across different scenarios.
Step 6: Update Triggers for Production
Once testing is complete and you're satisfied with the outreach, adjust the trigger settings to target your intended audience instead of just yourself.
