News & Releases
News articles are content pieces that keep customers informed about news, announcements, and updates. Unlike other outreach types that are triggered by specific user actions, news articles are always visible in the widget and on dedicated news pages with custom URLs for any organization.
Managing News Articles
The news articles management page displays a table of all news articles with the following information:
Table Columns
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | The article title, clickable to edit |
| Widget | The widget the article belongs to (shown as avatar) |
| Published | Toggle to publish/unpublish the article |
| Language | The language of the article content |
| Weight | Determines display order (higher weight = higher in feed) |
| Created At | When the article was first created |
Weight System
The weight column controls the order in which news articles appear in the widget's news feed. Articles with higher weight values appear at the top of the list. You can adjust the weight using the arrow buttons in the actions column:
- ↑ Increase weight - Moves article higher in the feed
- ↓ Decrease weight - Moves article lower in the feed
Creating and Editing News Articles
Default Settings
When creating a new news article, you'll need to configure:
- Title - The headline of your news article
- Widget - Select which widget this article belongs to
- Language - Choose the language for the article content
- Published - Toggle whether the article is live (published articles are visible to visitors)
AI Content Tools
The AI content generator helps you create news articles with three modes:
Creates a new news article from scratch based on your description. Replaces any existing content.
Adds new content to your existing article, extending it based on your instructions.
Modifies your existing article content while preserving the structure and applying your requested changes.
You can provide additional context by selecting:
- Related knowledgebase articles - Include relevant help articles for context
- Related news articles - Reference other published news for consistency
Article Image
Upload a main image for your news article that will be displayed prominently:
- Supported formats: WebP, PNG, JPEG
- Display: Appears at the top of the article and in news feed previews
- Purpose: Visual representation of your news content

Article Visibility
News articles appear in two main locations:
Widget News Tab
Articles are displayed in the widget's dedicated news section when:
- The news tab is enabled in widget settings
- Articles are published
- Visitors navigate to the news section
Widget Home Page
News articles can also appear on the widget's home screen when the "Latest News" content card is added. This displays recent articles directly on the main widget interface.
Shareboard News Page
Published articles are available on the organization's dedicated news page at custom URLs (e.g., widgetdomain.com/s/news/en/article-id). This provides a standalone news experience outside the widget.
