Data Export

Download your visitors, conversations, and messages as CSV files for GDPR portability or internal backups.

Overview

Yaplet lets you export your organization's data as CSV files. This supports GDPR data portability requirements and can also be used for internal reporting or backups.

Data export is restricted to organization owners.

Available Exports

  • ID, name, email

  • Chat ID
  • Visitor name and email

  • Assigned agent
  • Created and updated timestamps

Messages

Exports individual message records with:

  • Message ID and chat ID
  • Visitor name and email
  • Message content
  • Message type and direction (inbound/outbound)
  • Visibility and assigned agent
  • Timestamp

How to Export

  1. Go to Settings → Organization settings → Data Export
  2. Click Download CSV next to the data type you want
  3. The file will download automatically

Each export is logged in the Audit Log for compliance tracking.

Large exports are fetched in pages of 10,000 rows until they're complete, so there is no size you need to work around.

This is not the same as exporting a board

Tickets are exported from a different place, and the two exports are easy to confuse. A board's own toolbar has its own export, which writes CSV, Markdown or a Yaplet backup file for a single ticket, a column, one board or all of them — plus Trello JSON, which is only offered when a whole board is in scope. It carries an extra decision this page doesn't: only an organization owner may include the reporter's name, email and country in the file — that option turns a ticket export into a personal-data export, so anyone else is refused.
