Shoptet
Install the Yaplet chat widget on a Shoptet web shop with Shoptet's built-in HTML code editor. No app and no theme files to edit.
Overview
Shoptet has a built-in HTML code editor that adds code to every page of a shop. Pasting the Yaplet code there, wrapped in <script> tags, puts the chat widget on the whole shop. No app or theme file editing is needed.
Installation Steps
Copy your Yaplet code
In your Yaplet dashboard, go to Brand → Chat widget and open the Install tab. If the tab asks where your website runs, choose Other website. Copy the code with the copy button on the code block.
Shoptet's HTML code boxes expect HTML, so the code must sit between a <script> line and a </script> line. With Other website chosen, the code already has these lines. If the tab didn't ask, the code is plain JavaScript that starts with !function (Yaplet, and you add the lines when you paste it.
Open the HTML code editor
In your Shoptet admin, go to Megjelenés és tartalom → Szerkesztő → HTML kód (Appearance and content → Editor → HTML code).
Paste the code into the Footer box
Use the Footer box: code there goes to the end of every page, just before the closing </body> tag. The Fejléc (Header) box works too.
At the end of the box, paste the code on a new line. It must start with a <script> line and end with a </script> line; if what you copied starts with !function (Yaplet instead, type <script> on a new line before it and </script> on a new line after it. If the box already holds other code, keep it and add the Yaplet code after it. Each box takes up to 8,192 characters; the Yaplet code with its tags is about 1,500.
Save your changes.
Check your shop
Open your shop in a new browser tab and reload it. The Yaplet chat button appears in the bottom-right corner. Click it to check that the chat opens.
Troubleshooting
- Shoptet won't save the change — the box is over its 8,192-character limit. If the Footer box is almost full, paste the code into the Fejléc (Header) box instead.
- The code shows up as text on the shop's pages — the
<script>tags are missing. Add them as described above and save. - You pasted the code in the Sablontervező (Template designer) — changes made there stay a draft until you click Változások közzététele (Publish changes).
- There is no HTML kód menu — ask Shoptet support whether your plan includes it.
- The browser shows an old copy of the page — reload, or open the shop in a private window.
