Tilda

Install the Yaplet chat widget on every page of a Tilda site through Tilda's site-wide head code setting. Needs a paid Tilda plan.

Overview

Tilda lets you add your own code to the head section of every page of a site. Pasting the Yaplet code there and publishing all pages again puts the chat widget on the whole site. No per-page block or developer is needed.

Editing the head code needs a paid Tilda plan (Personal or Business): on the Free plan it can't be edited. Tilda's two-week free trial includes all features. Menu names are written exactly as Tilda's own help shows them.

Installation Steps

Copy your Yaplet code

In your Yaplet dashboard, go to Brand → Chat widget and open the Install tab. If the tab asks where your website runs, choose Other website. Copy the code with the copy button on the code block.

Tilda's field takes HTML, so the code must sit between a <script> line and a </script> line. With Other website chosen, the code already has these lines. If the tab didn't ask, the code is plain JavaScript that starts with !function (Yaplet, and you add the lines when you paste it.

Open the head code setting

In Tilda, open the site's Site Settings and go to More → HTML code for the head section. Click Edit Code.

Paste the code

Paste the Yaplet code. It must start with a <script> line and end with a </script> line; if what you copied starts with !function (Yaplet instead, type <script> on a new line before it and </script> on a new line after it. The finished code looks like this:

<script>
(your Yaplet code)
</script>

Click Save.

Publish all pages again

The code only reaches the pages when they are published again. Go back to the project dashboard and click Publish all pages. If you use folders, Tilda asks whether to publish all pages or only the current folder: choose Publish all.

This also publishes pages that aren't online yet, such as drafts. To keep a folder of drafts offline, tick Archive Folder in that folder's settings first.

Check your site

Open the site in a new browser tab and reload it. The Yaplet chat button appears in the bottom-right corner. Click it to check that the chat opens.

Troubleshooting

  • The pages weren't published again — saving the code is not enough. Click Publish all pages on the project dashboard.
  • There is no such field under More — older Tilda help pages name the tab differently: Site Settings → Insert Code → HTML code for the HEAD section.
  • The head code can't be edited — the site is on the Free plan. Switch to a paid plan or start the free trial.
  • The <script> tags are missing — open the head code again and check that <script> is on the line before the code and </script> on the line after it. Save and publish all pages again.
  • You still see the old page — the browser may show a cached copy. Reload, or open the site in a private window.
The Installation page explains what the code does and lists every other platform guide.
