Meta Integration

Connect your Facebook and Instagram pages to enable live chat functionality, allowing customers to reach you through social media platforms.

What is Meta Integration?

The Meta integration bridges your Facebook Messenger and Instagram accounts directly into your Yaplet inbox. This unified approach lets you manage all customer conversations from a single dashboard, regardless of whether they started on Facebook or Instagram.

Key Benefits

Unified Inbox

All social media conversations appear alongside your website chats in one centralized inbox.

Multi-Platform Support

Handle conversations from both Facebook Messenger and Instagram in the same interface.

Seamless Agent Experience

Your agents can respond to social media messages just like any other chat conversation.

Native Platform Delivery

Customer responses are delivered directly through the platform they contacted you from.

How It Works

When customers message you through Facebook Messenger or Instagram, those conversations automatically appear in your Yaplet inbox. Your agents can respond using the same chat interface they use for website visitors, but the responses are delivered natively through the respective social media platform.

Conversation Flow

  1. Customer initiates contact through Facebook Messenger or Instagram
  2. Message appears in Yaplet inbox alongside other conversations
  3. Agent responds using the Yaplet chat interface
  4. Response is delivered directly to the customer's social media platform
This creates a seamless experience where customers can contact you through their preferred social media platform, while your team maintains a unified workflow.

Connecting Your Meta Pages

Follow these steps to connect your Facebook and Instagram pages to Yaplet.

Step 1: Access Meta Integration Settings

Navigate to Settings → Meta Integration in your Yaplet dashboard.

Step 2: Initiate Facebook Connection

Click the "Add Facebook pages" button to start the connection process.

This will redirect you to Facebook's OAuth authorization dialog where you'll need to grant Yaplet access to manage your pages.

Step 3: Authorize Access

In the Facebook authorization dialog:

  • Select the Facebook pages you want to connect
  • Grant the necessary permissions for messaging
  • Confirm the connection

Step 4: Configure Page Widgets

After authorization, your connected pages will appear in the Meta Integration settings. For each page:

Select a Widget

Choose which Yaplet widget will handle conversations for this page from the dropdown menu.

Verify Platform Connections

Check the badges to confirm both Facebook Messenger and Instagram are connected (if available).

Activate the Page

The page becomes active once a widget is selected and will start receiving messages.

Step 5: Test the Integration

Send a test message to your connected page to ensure messages are routing correctly to your Yaplet inbox.

Managing Connected Pages

Viewing Connected Pages

The Meta Integration page displays all your connected Facebook pages in a grid layout, showing:

  • Page name and creation date
  • Connected platforms (Facebook Messenger, Instagram)
  • Assigned widget and activation status

Changing Widget Assignment

You can reassign a page to a different widget at any time using the widget dropdown in each page card.

Removing Pages

To disconnect a page:

  1. Click the trash icon on the page card
  2. Confirm the removal when prompted
  3. The page will be disconnected and removed from your Yaplet account
Removing a page will stop new messages from being received, but existing conversations will remain in your inbox.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Messages not appearing in inbox:

  • Verify the page is connected to an active widget
  • Check that Facebook permissions are still valid
  • Ensure your Yaplet subscription includes Meta integration

Authorization failed:

  • Try reconnecting the page through the settings
  • Verify you have admin access to the Facebook page
  • Check that Facebook Business verification is complete
