Framer
Install the Yaplet chat widget on a Framer site with Framer's Custom Code setting. No plugin or code component needed.
Overview
Framer's Custom Code setting adds scripts to a site, and Framer lists chat widgets as one of its uses. Adding the Yaplet code there, at the end of the <body>, puts the chat widget on every page. No plugin or code component is needed.
Installation Steps
Copy your Yaplet code
In your Yaplet dashboard, go to Brand → Chat widget and open the Install tab. If the tab asks where your website runs, choose Other website. Copy the code with the copy button on the code block.
If the code you copied starts with !function (Yaplet, it has no <script> tags around it yet. Framer's custom code takes HTML, so you add the tags when you paste it.
Open Custom Code in Framer
Open your Framer project and its settings, then select the Custom Code tab. Click Add Script, or the + icon if the site already has scripts.
Add the Yaplet script
Name the script (for example Yaplet chat) and paste the code. The code must start with a <script> line and end with a </script> line. If what you copied starts with !function (Yaplet instead, type <script> on a new line before it and </script> on a new line after it. The finished code looks like this:
<script>
!function (Yaplet, t, i) { … your Yaplet code … }();
</script>
For the placement, choose the end of the <body>. Leave it on all pages, set how often it runs to Once, and save the script.
Publish and check your site
Publish your site. Open the live site in a new browser tab and reload it. The Yaplet chat button appears in the bottom-right corner. Click it to check that the chat opens.
Troubleshooting
- You are looking at the canvas preview — Framer runs custom code only on the published site. Publish, then open the live site.
- The code shows up as text on the site — the
<script>tags are missing. Edit the Yaplet script in Custom Code, add them, and publish again. - The chat shows on some pages only — the script is limited to specific pages. Set it to run on all pages.
- Framer doesn't let you add a script — ask Framer support whether your plan includes custom code.
- You still see the old version of the site — reload without the browser cache, or open the site in a private window.
