IdoSell | Yaplet

Overview

IdoSell's Dodatki HTML/JS (HTML/JS add-ons) put outside scripts on every page of a shop without editing the template. Adding the Yaplet code as a JS add-on puts the chat widget on the whole shop. The JS add-on type takes plain JavaScript and adds the <script> tags itself, so the Yaplet code goes in without them.

This guide follows the Polish IdoSell panel, as IdoSell's own help shows it. Menu and field names are written exactly as IdoSell shows them, with an English translation in brackets.

Installation Steps

Copy your Yaplet code

In your Yaplet dashboard, go to Brand → Chat widget and open the Install tab. If the tab asks where your website runs, choose Other website and switch off Include the <script> and </script> lines. Copy the code with the copy button on the code block.

The code must be plain JavaScript that starts with !function (Yaplet, with no <script> tags around it. If what you copied starts with a <script> line, leave out that first line and the last </script> line.

Create a campaign

In your IdoSell panel, go to Sklep → Dodatki HTML/JS (Shop → HTML/JS add-ons) and add a campaign: a name in Nazwa w panelu (Name in the panel), Aktywna (Active) set to yes, and under Strony (Sites) the shops where the chat should appear. Save and go back to the list. The campaign may show as inactive until it has a saved add-on; that is normal.

Add the Yaplet code as a JS add-on

For your campaign, choose Edytuj dodatki (Edit add-ons), then Nowy dodatek (New add-on). Give it a title (for example Yaplet chat) and set Aktywny (Active) to yes.

Set the add-on type to JS. In Pokazuj na urządzeniach (Show on devices), tick every device the chat should appear on (at least one). For loading, choose Ładowanie razem z treścią strony (Load together with the page content), which IdoSell recommends for plain JavaScript. If the shop has more than one language, use Powiel we wszystkich językach (Copy to all languages).

Paste the code into the add-on's content field. In Wyświetlaj w (Show in), choose koniec sekcji body (end of the body section), and in Wyświetlaj na podstronach (Show on subpages), choose the whole shop. Leave the target group as it is (all visitors by default) and save the add-on.

Check your shop

IdoSell publishes add-ons on a schedule, so allow up to about 60 minutes. Then open your shop in a new browser tab and reload it. The Yaplet chat button appears in the bottom-right corner. Click it to check that the chat opens.

IdoSell reminds shop owners that they must tell visitors about cookies used by add-on scripts and let them refuse. To load the chat only after a visitor accepts a cookie category, choose Ładowanie przez AJAX, po załadowaniu strony (Load by AJAX, after the page has loaded) instead. Then edit the add-on again, add a cookie with Zdefiniuj nowy plik (Define a new file) and pick its category; the option appears only when editing an existing add-on. Visitors who don't accept that category won't see the chat.

Troubleshooting

Less than an hour has passed — IdoSell can take up to about 60 minutes to publish an add-on.
The add-on type is wrong — with type JS, the code must have no <script> tags. With the HTML type, the code must start with a <script> line and end with a </script> line. If it starts with !function (Yaplet instead, type <script> on a new line before it and </script> on a new line after it.
The campaign stays inactive — make sure at least one device is ticked in Pokazuj na urządzeniach, and save.
The chat works in only one language version — add-ons are kept per language. Paste the code into the other languages, or use Powiel we wszystkich językach.
IdoSell switched the add-on off automatically — this happens when Automatyczna kontrola i wyłączanie (Automatic check and switch-off) is on and an outside script answers slowly. Set Aktywny back to yes, tick at least one device and save.
The browser shows an old copy of the page — reload, or open the shop in a private window.
