Duda
Install the Yaplet chat widget on every page of a Duda site through Duda's site-wide Header HTML settings. Needs Duda's Team plan or higher.
Overview
Duda has a site-wide setting for adding your own code to every page. Pasting the Yaplet code into the Body End HTML field and republishing puts the chat widget on the whole site. No developer is needed.
Installation Steps
Copy your Yaplet code
In your Yaplet dashboard, go to Brand → Chat widget and open the Install tab. If the tab asks where your website runs, choose Other website. Copy the code with the copy button on the code block.
If the code you copied starts with !function (Yaplet, it has no <script> tags around it yet. Duda's field takes HTML, so you add those tags when you paste the code.
Open the Header HTML settings
Open the site in the Duda editor. In the side panel, click More, then Settings, and click Header HTML.
Paste the code into Body End HTML
There are two fields: Head HTML and Body End HTML. Use Body End HTML: it adds the code at the end of every page, and Duda recommends it whenever a cookie consent app is in use, because a consent app can't hold back code placed in the head.
Paste the Yaplet code. The code must start with a <script> line and end with a </script> line. If what you copied starts with !function (Yaplet instead, type <script> on a new line before it and </script> on a new line after it. The finished code looks like this:
<script>
(your Yaplet code)
</script>
Click Save.
Republish your site
In the editor's top bar, click the Republish button (it says Publish if the site isn't live yet). Changes only go live after this.
Check your site
Open the live site in a new browser tab and reload it. The Yaplet chat button appears in the bottom-right corner. Click it to check that the chat opens.
Troubleshooting
- The site wasn't republished — saving the code is not enough. Click Republish in the editor.
- There is no Settings, Header HTML or Republish button — the agency or designer sets permissions for each site. Ask them for access, or to add the code for you.
- The code disappeared after saving — it probably went into Head HTML, which removes code it doesn't accept. Paste it into Body End HTML instead.
- The
<script>tags are missing — check that<script>is on the line before the code and</script>on the line after it, then save and republish. - The code is there but still doesn't run — Duda's page speed optimization can affect custom code. Duda's help says its support team can turn it off for the site.
- You still see the old page — the browser may show a cached copy. Reload, or open the site in a private window.
