Greeting, Welcome & Team Display
Customize the greeting text, welcome message and team avatars that visitors see at the top of your widget's home screen.
Greeting Message
The greeting message is a short, friendly line that appears above the welcome headline.
- Default: "Hi there👋"
- Where to change: Brand → Chat widget → Home → Header Greeting
Welcome Message
The welcome message is the bold headline below the greeting. It's the largest text on the home screen and the first thing that catches the visitor's eye.
- Default: "How can we help?"
- Where to change: Brand → Chat widget → Home → Welcome Message
The welcome message fades in with a smooth animation when the widget opens, giving it a polished feel.
Ask Me Anything Box
The AI Assistant box sits at the top of every home screen: a text input reading "Ask me anything..." where visitors type a question and press Enter to start a conversation. Its quick buttons are covered in Home Screen Cards.
Team Avatars
You can show up to three team members' faces above the greeting, stacked slightly over each other — one person shows one face, two show two. Under them the widget prints "Typically replies in …" with the reply time you picked on the Messages tab, in the visitor's own language — the line shows exactly when the avatars do.
How It Works
- Avatars are pulled from your team members' profile pictures
- People with a profile photo come first, then people who are currently online
- Up to 3 avatars are displayed, even if you have more team members
- Only agents who have been granted access to this widget's brand are shown — if someone has no access, their avatar (and their online/offline status) is hidden. Owners and admins always appear. Access is granted per brand, in the Brand access section of the Organization page — open it from your avatar menu at the top right, Manage team, since it has no entry in the left menu — or in the Inbox access list on the Chat widget's Features tab. Both write the same grant. This keeps visitors from seeing team members who cannot actually answer them.
Showing or Hiding the Team
Toggle team avatars on or off with Show Team — "Display team member avatars." — on the Chat widget's Home tab. New widgets start with it off.
When enabled, visitors see a small row of faces before the greeting, creating a personal, human touch. When disabled, the greeting and welcome message appear on their own.
Online / Offline Status
The team faces on the home screen carry no online dot. The status dot — green for online, red for offline — sits on avatars elsewhere:
- In the chat header, on the assigned agent's avatar. While the visitor is waiting for an agent, the header shows your team's overall status instead
- In the chat, on each agent's avatar beside their messages
- On the home screen's open-conversation row, on the face of whoever wrote last: that agent's own status, or — when the AI wrote last — a green dot while anyone on your team is online
The dot follows each agent's own online/offline status in the dashboard, and it updates while the widget is open.
