Someone has agreed to promote you and you need to start counting their sales. Every affiliate partner in Yaplet gets their own record — a coupon code customers type at checkout, a commission rate of their own, and a private dashboard they can log into. Here is how to add one.
1. Open the partners list and click Add Partner
In the left menu, open Marketing → Affiliate Management → Partners, then click Add Partner above the table.
2. Fill in the partner's details
The new-partner dialog has these fields:
- Name — the partner's display name (shown in your dashboard and at the top of theirs)
- Email — kept for your records
- Coupon Code — the code a customer enters at checkout so the order counts for this partner. It has to be unique within your organisation; saving a code another partner already uses is rejected. The Generate button beside the field invents a random code of up to nine characters.
- Rate Type — Percentage or Fixed Amount
- Rate Value — the number that goes with the type. The dialog starts at 10, which is only a starting suggestion.
- Payout Method — how you intend to pay this partner: PayPal, Bank Transfer or Stripe
- Approved — off by default. Nothing is counted until you switch it on — see the last section.
- Ignore product-specific rates — makes the partner's own rate win every time, even when your shop sends an exact
commissionamount through the tracking API. See Set product-level commission overrides.
Leave the coupon field empty and Yaplet builds one from the partner's name in lower case with the spaces removed.
3. Save and share their dashboard link
Click Create Partner. The partner now has a private dashboard address. Open the partner from the list, open the Actions menu at the top right, and click Copy public dashboard URL. Send that link to your partner — they choose their own password the first time they open it.
See Share a partner dashboard for what they see once they are in.
Approving partners
Approved starts off. The tracking API only creates a commission for an approved partner — while it is off, every order sent with that coupon comes back as success: false and nothing is recorded, no matter how many sales they made. Switch Approved for Commissions on from the partner's own page to start, or pause, counting their orders.
