Add a partner

Updated May 22, 2026

Each affiliate partner in Yaplet gets their own record — a unique coupon code that customers use at checkout, a commission rate set per-partner, and a private dashboard they can log into. Here's how to add one.

1. Open Affiliate Management and click Add Partner

In the dashboard sidebar, click Affiliate Management, then click Add Partner at the top of the partners list.

2. Fill in partner details

The new-partner form has the following fields:

  • Name — the partner's display name (shown in your dashboard and in their own dashboard)
  • Email — for your records; not used to send automatic emails
  • Coupon Code — the code a customer enters at checkout to attribute the order to this partner. Must be unique across your program. Use the Generate button next to the field for a random 9-character code.
  • Rate Type — choose Percentage or Fixed Amount
  • Rate Value — the number Yaplet applies for that type (the form pre-fills 10% as a starting point)
  • Approved — tick this checkbox to start counting commissions on this partner's orders. Newly created partners are not approved by default — see the section below.
  • Ignore product-specific rates — forces the partner's own rate to always win, even when a custom commission value is passed through the tracking API. See Set product-level commission overrides.
  • Payout Method — how you'll pay this partner (PayPal, Bank Transfer, or Stripe)

3. Save and share the dashboard link

After saving, Yaplet creates a private dashboard URL for this partner. Open the partner's detail page, open the Actions dropdown, and click Copy public dashboard URL. Send the link to your partner — they'll set a password on their first visit.

See Share a partner dashboard for what partners see after they log in.

Approving partners

The Approved checkbox defaults to off. The tracking API only creates commissions when the partner is approved — so if you forget to tick it (or open an existing partner and want to pause them), the API returns success: false for every order using their code and no commission is recorded. Tick Approved on the partner's detail page to start (or resume) counting their orders.
