Get started with affiliates

Updated May 22, 2026

You want other people to sell for you, and you want a reliable record of what each of them earned. Yaplet's affiliate program is that record. You add partners with their own coupon codes, your shop reports every sale to Yaplet's tracking API, and Yaplet works out the commission and keeps the ledger. Paying the money out still happens on your side — Yaplet never moves funds.

What the affiliate program does

  • A record for every partner — each with their own unique coupon code
  • Per-partner commission rates — a percentage of the order total, or a fixed amount per order
  • Product-level overrides — your shop can send the exact commission amount for a specific product through the tracking API
  • Password-protected partner dashboards — each partner gets their own link showing their earnings, conversions and payouts
  • External payouts, internal ledger — you pay partners by PayPal, bank transfer or Stripe, and record in Yaplet that the payout happened

Before you start

The affiliate screens live at Marketing → Affiliate Management in the left menu, and they only appear for people whose own account holds the Affiliates permission — the organisation owner always has it. If the section is missing, check two things in this order. First, ask whoever manages your team to switch Affiliates on for you: avatar at the bottom-left of the dashboard → Manage team, expand your row, tick it, save. Second, if that switch is not in the list at all, your organisation does not hold the Affiliates module — it is a paid add-on rather than part of the base plan, and someone with billing access has to add it before anyone can be given the permission.

How the pieces fit together

  1. Add a partner — fill in their details, set a commission rate, and switch Approved on so the tracking API counts their orders.
  2. Connect the tracking API — your shop calls the tracking endpoint from its own server whenever a customer checks out with a partner's coupon code. Yaplet works out the commission and stores it.
  3. Watch commissions arrive — every successful call creates one commission record credited to that partner.
  4. Reconcile payouts — once you have actually paid a partner, open their page and record the payout. Yaplet marks the matching commissions as processed and clears their balance.
