Send your first newsletter campaign

Updated May 22, 2026

Before you begin

You need two things in place before your first campaign will reach anyone: at least one verified subscriber, and a verified sending domain. Without a verified domain, Yaplet will not queue the send.

  • No subscribers yet? Follow step 1 below to add one manually, or jump to importing from CSV for a bulk upload.
  • No verified domain? See Verify your sending domain — it takes about five minutes and is the most important deliverability step you'll take.

1. Add your first subscriber

Go to Newsletter → Subscribers and click Add subscriber. This opens the full Import page — the default tab is Import from CSV/TXT for bulk uploads. For a single contact, switch to the Add Single Subscriber tab.

Fill in the Email and the Name — both fields are required. Optionally pick a group. The Send verification email toggle is off by default; turn it on if you want double opt-in, and the subscriber will stay in Unverified state until they click the confirmation link in their inbox. Click Add subscriber to save.

To add many contacts at once, stay on the CSV tab — see Import subscribers from CSV or API.

2. Create a new campaign

Go to Newsletter → Campaigns and click New campaign. The campaign builder opens on a five-step flow: Type → Details → Design → Content → Review. The first step is Type — pick the kind of campaign you want to send (a one-off broadcast is the default).

3. Fill in the campaign details

In the Details step, fill in:

  • Campaign name — an internal label, never visible to subscribers.
  • Subject line — the headline subscribers see in their inbox.
  • Sender name — the display name that appears beside the from-address (e.g. Acme Support).
  • Sender email — pick one of your verified sender addresses from the dropdown.
  • Preheader — optional preview text shown beside the subject line in most email clients.
  • Recipients — choose All active subscribers, specific segments, or specific groups.

4. Design your email

In the Design step, pick a starting point:

  • Start from scratch — blank canvas in the drag-and-drop editor.
  • Template gallery — a pre-designed layout you can customize.
  • Recent emails — reuse the design from a previous campaign.

The editor opens automatically. This is the Content step — drag blocks from the blocks panel into your canvas, click any block to edit its content, and use the toolbar to adjust colors, fonts, and spacing. See Use the drag-and-drop email editor for a full walkthrough.

5. Review and send

The Review step shows a summary: subject, sender, recipient count, and a live preview of your email. Before committing the send:

  • Click Send test mail to receive a copy in your own inbox and confirm everything renders correctly.
  • Pick the Send now card to dispatch immediately, or the Send later card to schedule — the cards are selectable, not buttons. Picking Send later reveals a date and time picker; see Schedule a campaign for later.
  • Click Save & Schedule at the bottom of the page. A confirmation modal opens — click Confirm & Start Campaign to commit.

Once confirmed, the campaign moves to Ongoing and Yaplet begins queuing emails. A large list may take a few minutes to fully dispatch.
