How Messenger works in Yaplet
When a visitor messages your Facebook Page through Messenger, the conversation appears in your Yaplet inbox. Agents reply using the same input bar β replies are delivered natively inside the visitor's Messenger thread.
Prerequisites
- A Facebook Page for your business (not a personal profile).
- Admin access to the Facebook Page.
- Admin access to your Yaplet workspace.
Connect Messenger via Meta Integration
- Go to Settings β Meta Integration in your Yaplet dashboard.
- Click Add Facebook pages.
- In the Meta authorization dialog, log in with the Facebook account that administers your Page.
- Select the Facebook Page(s) you want to connect.
- Grant all the permissions Yaplet requests, including messaging permissions.
- Click Authorize. You're redirected back to Yaplet.
- Your connected Pages appear as cards in the Meta Integration settings, each showing a Messenger badge.
- Use the widget dropdown on each card to choose which widget receives that Page's Messenger conversations.
What agents see
Messenger conversations show a Facebook badge in the inbox conversation list. The message thread and reply flow work identically to live chat β same formatting bar, same private notes, same assignment and transfer options.
Managing and removing Pages
To reassign a Page to a different widget, update the dropdown on its card. To disconnect a Page, click the trash icon on the card and confirm. Existing conversations remain in the inbox; new messages from that Page stop arriving.
Troubleshooting
- Messages not appearing: Check that the Page card has a widget assigned. Without a widget, incoming messages are silently dropped.
- Authorization expired: Meta authorization tokens can expire. Reconnect by clicking Add Facebook pages again and re-authorizing.
- No admin access: You must be a Page admin (not just an editor) to authorize Yaplet. Contact the Page owner if needed.
