A "seat" is a slot for one active team member. Your plan includes a set number of seats, and each accepted invitation or active member uses one. When you hit the limit, you cannot invite new people until you either upgrade or free up an existing seat.
Check your current seat usage
Go to Settings → Organization. The header shows how many seats are in use out of your plan's total (for example, "3 / 5 members").
Free up a seat
You can free a seat in two ways:
- Disable the member — The account stays in your workspace but the person cannot log in. Conversation history is preserved. Disabled members do not count against your seat limit.
- Remove the member — Permanently removes them from the workspace. Their past conversations remain in the inbox but are no longer assigned to anyone. This is irreversible.
To do either, go to Settings → Organization, click the member's name, and choose Disable or Remove.
Add more seats
To increase your seat count, upgrade your plan or add seat add-ons from Settings → Billing. Seat counts are set at the plan level — contact support if you need a custom configuration.
Pending invitations and seats
A pending (not yet accepted) invitation does not consume a seat. The seat is only consumed once the invitee clicks the link and creates their account.
