Yaplet credits are the usage unit across Yaplet. You can pre-pay by topping up a credit balance, which is spent first on AI answers (Vex chatbot and Copilot in the inbox). Voice call minutes and newsletter emails are billed as metered usage on your subscription invoice rather than drawn from this prepaid balance. Top-up credits are separate from your subscription plan — you top them up as needed and they don't expire at the end of a billing cycle.
What credits cover
- AI answers — every organization gets 100 free AI answers per month. After that, answers are pay-as-you-go: credits are debited from your balance for each answer (roughly $0.002, depending on the AI model used). On the free plan, if you run out of credits Vex hands off to a human instead of answering; paid plans get a lower per-answer rate. Copilot answers in the inbox also consume credits.
- Voice call minutes — AI phone calls bill per minute as metered usage on your subscription invoice (not deducted from your prepaid credit balance). The approximate rate is $0.12 per minute.
- Newsletter emails — email sends are metered separately (not from the credit balance) at $0.50 per 1,000 emails beyond your plan's included allowance.
Check your credit balance
- Go to Settings → Billing.
- Your current credit balance is shown in the Account balance section, along with a top-up history.
Buy credits
- Go to Settings → Billing and click Top up in the Account balance card.
- Choose an amount. Payments are processed via Stripe Checkout and support card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
- After payment, the funds are added to your account balance immediately. The charge appears as a top-up in your billing history (separate from your subscription invoices).
How credits are spent
Your credit balance is a prepaid wallet, not an invoice credit. AI (Vex) answers are debited directly from this balance as you use them, in real time — they are not added up and billed on your next subscription invoice. Top-up credits never expire, so any balance you don't use carries over indefinitely. Voice minutes and newsletter emails are billed separately as usage-based charges.
Your credit balance is retained even if your subscription payment fails and your workspace is suspended to the free tier.
Credits after you cancel
If you cancel your subscription with a positive credit balance, the credits are not automatically forfeited. Contact support to request a manual refund of the remaining balance.
Credits during the trial
During the 14-day free trial you can use up to 500 credits of AI usage. That's enough for hundreds of AI answers. If you exhaust them before the trial ends, the trial ends immediately and paid billing starts — same as exceeding the email limit.
