Yaplet credits are the usage unit across Yaplet. You pre-pay by topping up a balance, and that balance is spent first on AI answers (Vex), voice call minutes, and newsletter email sends. Credits are separate from your subscription — you top them up when you want to and they never expire.
What credits cover
- AI answers — roughly $0.002 per answer, though the exact cost follows how much text the answer needed and which model produced it. The free plan includes 100 answers a month and then pays the standard rate from your balance; paid plans have no monthly free allowance — every answer is billed from the first one, at a lower rate than the free plan's. On the free plan, if your balance runs out Vex stops answering and hands the conversation to a human instead. Copilot, the assistant inside your dashboard, does not use credits at all — without a subscription it is free but capped at 10 messages an hour across the organisation, and with one it is metered onto your invoice rather than your wallet.
- Voice call minutes — approximately $0.12 a minute, drawn from your balance first, with anything beyond it billed as metered usage on your invoice. Voice is a paid module, so this only applies once you have added it.
- Newsletter emails — paid plans send at a discounted $0.50 per 1,000 emails (0.5 credits each), taken from your balance first and metered beyond it. The free plan sends at the standard $1.00 per 1,000 (1 credit each) and is prepaid only: when the balance runs out, campaigns pause automatically and resume when you top up.
Check your credit balance
- Go to Settings → Organization settings → Billing.
- Your balance is in the Account balance section, together with your top-up history.
Buy credits
- Go to Settings → Organization settings → Billing and click Top up in the Account balance card.
- Choose an amount. Payment goes through Stripe Checkout and accepts cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- The funds land on your balance immediately. The charge shows in your billing history as a top-up, separate from your subscription invoices.
How credits are spent
Your balance is a prepaid wallet, not an invoice credit. AI answers, voice minutes and newsletter sends are debited from it as you use them, rather than being added up and billed later. Anything you don't spend carries over indefinitely. Where usage runs past the balance — voice minutes and email sends on a paid plan — the overflow is billed as metered usage on your invoice; on the free plan, newsletter sending is prepaid only and simply pauses until you top up.
Your balance survives a failed payment. If a charge fails and the account drops to the free plan, the credits are still there.
Credits after you cancel
Cancelling does not forfeit a positive balance — it stays on the account and is still there if you subscribe again. It is not paid back to you, though: under the Terms of Use our fees are non-refundable and unused allowances are not credited, so a refund is not something we can promise. If you are left with an unusually large balance, contact support and we will look at it case by case.
Credits during the trial
The 14-day trial comes with an allowance of 500 credits of AI usage and 1,000 newsletter emails — enough for hundreds of AI answers. Cross either line before day 14 and the trial ends immediately and paid billing begins.
