Audit shift edits

Updated May 22, 2026

Every change to a shift is logged automatically: clock-ins, clock-outs, time corrections, comment updates, pay rate overrides, and finalizations. The shift audit log lets you trace the history of any shift from the moment it was created.

Open the shift history

  1. Go to Time management → All shifts (admin) or My shifts (agent).
  2. Find the shift you want to investigate.
  3. Click the history icon or the shift row to expand its details.
  4. The Shift logs panel shows all events for that shift in chronological order.

What each log entry shows

Field Description
Event type What happened: start, end, update_start, update_end, update_pay_rate, update_comments, finalize, manually_created
Old value The value before the change
New value The value after the change
Changed by Which user made the change (name + email)
Timestamp When the change was made
IP / location The IP address and country from which the change was made

Event types explained

  • start — The shift was created by the agent clocking in.
  • end — The shift was ended by the agent clocking out.
  • update_start — The start time was corrected after the fact.
  • update_end — The end time was corrected after the fact.
  • update_pay_rate — An admin changed the pay rate for this specific shift.
  • update_comments — A comment was added or changed.
  • finalize — An admin locked the shift for payroll.
  • manually_created — An admin created the shift directly (e.g., to correct a missed clock-in).

Why this matters

The audit log is your safeguard against disputes. If a team member believes their pay was calculated incorrectly, you can review every change that was made to the shift, see who made it, and when — giving you a transparent paper trail for payroll queries or HR discussions.
