Drafting a Campaign

A comprehensive guide to creating and scheduling email campaigns through Yaplet's step-by-step campaign builder.

Overview

The newsletter campaign builder guides you through creating professional email campaigns in five clear steps. Whether you're sending promotional emails, newsletters, or announcements, the builder ensures you have everything set up correctly before sending.

Step 1: Choose Campaign Type

Start by selecting the type of campaign you want to create. Currently, Yaplet supports regular email campaigns.

Regular Campaign

Create and send a regular email campaign to your selected subscribers.

Step 2: Campaign Details

Configure the core information for your campaign including basic settings and recipient selection.

Basic Settings

  • Campaign Name: A descriptive name for your campaign (for your reference)
  • Subject Line: The email subject that recipients will see in their inbox
  • Sender Information: Choose your sender name and verified email address
  • Preheader Text: Optional preview text that appears alongside the subject in some email clients

Recipients Selection

Select who will receive your campaign through the recipients modal. You have three options:

All Active Subscribers

Send to everyone on your mailing list who hasn't unsubscribed. This is the simplest option for broad campaigns.

Segments

Use pre-configured filters to target specific groups based on subscriber data and behavior. Segments automatically update as your subscriber data changes.

Groups

Manually curated lists of subscribers that you've organized yourself. Perfect for one-off campaigns or special interest groups.

Important: You cannot mix segments and groups in a single campaign. Choose either segments OR groups, or select all active subscribers.

Step 3: Email Design

Choose how you want to start building your email content. You have three main options:

Begin with a blank canvas using Yaplet's drag-and-drop email editor. Choose between MJML (recommended for responsive designs) or HTML formats.

Explore the full email template gallery to see available designs and learn how to create your own templates.

Step 4: Email Content

Design and customize your email using the powerful GrapesJS drag-and-drop editor. This visual editor allows you to:

  • Drag and drop content blocks (text, images, buttons, etc.)
  • Customize colors, fonts, and spacing
  • Add dynamic content using subscriber merge tags
  • Preview your email across different devices
  • Switch between visual editing and HTML code view
The GrapesJS editor is fully documented in our email editor guide, which covers all features and best practices.

Step 5: Review and Schedule

Review your campaign details and choose when to send your email.

Campaign Summary

Before sending, you'll see a complete summary including:

  • Campaign name and subject line
  • Sender information
  • Recipient count and selection criteria
  • A live preview of your email content

Scheduling Options

Choose between two scheduling methods:

Send Now

Send your campaign immediately to all recipients. The system will begin processing emails right away based on your sending limits.

Schedule for Later

Set a specific date and time for your campaign to begin sending. Perfect for time-sensitive announcements or optimal sending windows.

Send Test Email

Before scheduling your full campaign, send a test email to verify everything looks correct.

Important Considerations

Once a campaign is scheduled, emails will be sent to all recipients. Double-check your content, recipient selection, and sender information before proceeding.
Sending Rate Control: Your campaign's sending speed is controlled by your domain settings. You can pause or cancel campaigns at any time from the campaign details page. Learn more

After scheduling, you'll be redirected to the campaign management page where you can monitor progress, view analytics, and manage ongoing campaigns.
